
Sacha Dhawan’s The Master returns in a fresh adventure from the Worlds of Doctor Who.
Big Finish has launched a new full-cast audio drama in its The Worlds of Doctor Who series, featuring the return of the Master. Sacha Dhawan reprises his role as the villain who brings chaos, forging both enemies and allies along the way. Fans can also view a new behind-the-scenes video below, where Dhawan gives a tour of the recording studio at Big Finish.
With the Doctor preoccupied with other adventures across time and space, the universe becomes the Master’s domain. However, with numerous malevolent and ruthless creatures lurking, is the Master still the most formidable monster of all? This latest box set presents three new adventures for the renegade Time Lord.
In The Craft of Corruption by Alison Winter, the Master assumes the role of a ship’s counselor on an interstellar cruise liner governed by the Interstellar Protection Corps. His goal is to avoid trouble until the ship departs their space, but trouble is never far behind the Master.
In The Ideal Quarry by Jody Houser, the Master takes on a companion to alleviate his boredom: the disgraced Sontaran Vegg, who is eager to return home for his execution. However, it isn’t long before they find themselves stranded on a planet, becoming the targets of some peculiar hunters.
Lastly, in Reformation by Lisa McMullin, the Master is captured and confined in a reformation chamber, a place where his own moral conscience is the only key to his freedom. Does the Master possess a conscience, and if he does, what will it take for him to be liberated?
Joining Sacha Dhawan are Dan Starkey as the Sontaran warrior Vegg, Jacqueline King as the lupine predator Sir Florencia Fang, Daisy Head as prisoner Renata, along with Anna Spearpoint, Kitty O’Sullivan, Mark Elstob, Tom Kiteley, and Rameet Rauli.
The Worlds of Doctor Who – Call Me Master: Monsters is currently available on the Big Finish website for £18.99 as a download and £22.99 for the download and limited collector’s edition CD box set. There is also a multi-buy bundle available for the Master’s previous adventure, Inner Demons, released in February.
