Sky has released a first look teaser trailer for The Death of Bunny Munro, an upcoming limited drama series adapted from Nick Cave’s acclaimed 2009 novel of the same name.
Matt Smith plays Bunny, a sex-addicted door-to-door salesman struggling to raise his son (Rafael Mathé) while trying to piece his life back together after the loss of his wife. As he takes his son on a chaotic journey around Brighton, he is compelled to confront the reality of who he truly is. Check out the trailer below...
After his wife Libby dies by suicide, sex-addicted door-to-door beauty salesman and self-styled lothario Bunny Munro (Matt Smith) finds himself responsible for his young son, Bunny Junior, with only a vague understanding of parenting. As they cope with their grief in vastly different ways, Bunny takes Junior on a reckless sales tour around Brighton and its coast.
Bunny jumps from one sales pitch to another, attempting to charm every woman he encounters, while Junior spends his time conversing with his mother’s ghost and coming to terms with the painful realization that his father is not only flawed but a complete wreck. As Bunny begins to fall apart, he recognizes the urgent need to help his son escape from his own outdated ideas of masculinity and prevent him from becoming another Bunny Munro.
The Death of Bunny Munro is both an outrageous cautionary tale and a heartfelt exploration of the father-son relationship.
The Death of Bunny Munro is set to premiere on November 20th.
