
Coinciding with its US premiere this weekend, new promotional materials including a poster, trailer, and images have been released for The Red Mask, a meta-slasher film directed by Ritesh Gupta. Helena Howard plays Allina, an indie screenwriter brought on to reboot a beloved 80s slasher franchise, who secludes herself in a remote cabin to finish her script. However, as her screenplay begins to alter unexpectedly and two masked strangers arrive at her door, she becomes ensnared in the disturbing intersection of homage and reality. Sam Mendes' ambitious project, The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event, has cast Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) and Mia McKenna-Bruce (Get Even) in two key roles as the wives of Beatles members.
This Beatles film series will consist of four parts, each focused on a different member of the iconic band that remains cherished long after their notorious breakup. The cast includes Harris Dickinson (Where The Crawdads Sing) as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Hamnet) as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as George Harrison.
Ronan will portray Linda McCartney, Paul McCartney's first wife, who was a photographer in the 1960s and made history as the first woman featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Meanwhile, McKenna-Bruce will take on the role of Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr's first wife, who was a hairdresser and was married to Starr for a decade after meeting in The Beatles' home city of Liverpool.
The screenplay for The Beatles is crafted by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne. Filming is set to commence throughout 2026, with all four films scheduled for simultaneous release in April 2028. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions are producing the films, with Mendes, Pippa Harris, and Julie Pastor at the helm.
Each member has his unique narrative, yet together, they form a legendary collective.
