Sam Raimi Makes His Return to Horror with the First Trailer for Send Help
For enthusiasts of Sam Raimi in the realm of horror-thrillers, the wait has been long. Since the release of Drag Me to Hell in 2009, the Evil Dead director has focused on projects in Oz and the Marvel universe. In 2026, he is set to make his return to genre cinema (coincidentally on the same day as Gore Verbinski's comeback) with Send Help, a survival horror film featuring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien. With a release date of January 30 from 20th Century Studios, the first trailer is now available.
The synopsis reads: “Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) are two colleagues who end up stranded on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash. Together, they must confront their past conflicts and collaborate to stay alive, but the situation evolves into a disturbing and darkly comedic clash of wills and intelligence as they strive to escape.”
“I’ve always been drawn to stories where compelling, dynamic characters are pushed to their limits,” remarks director Sam Raimi. “In our narrative, the shifting dynamics create a mounting tension filled with unforeseen twists and suspense.”
