Owlcat Games reveals exciting news for fans of Warhammer 40,000.

At the IGN Fan Fest, Owlcat Games announced exciting updates regarding their games Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy, both set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The highly acclaimed CRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, while Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is set to enter Alpha later this year.

After the significant release of the Lex Imperialis expansion earlier this year, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will be introducing the Ruinous Powers of Chaos on the Nintendo Switch 2. This brings a clear benefit, as players will have an additional mobile gaming option alongside the Steamdeck for their adventures across the Koronus Expanse.

In Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, players will command their own Voidship as a Rogue Trader, part of an ancient lineage of privateers tasked with exploring and safeguarding the boundaries of Imperial space. Empowered by the Emperor, players will use their formidable vessel to extend the reach of the Imperium, adhere to the Emperor's directives, and utilize the ship and its extensive crew to eliminate humanity's foes. Alternatively, players may also choose to ally with enemy factions, and every choice made will influence the surrounding star systems and their inhabitants.

When Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy enters Alpha later this year, players will dive into the grim 41st millennium as an acolyte of the Inquisition. They will explore the Imperium of Man during the Noctis Aeterna, amid the enigma of the Tyrant Star, a long-feared omen of disaster. This period in human history was marred by destruction that could last for many years in certain areas.

Players will be responsible for leading a varied warband of dedicated Imperium subjects, including seasoned Catachan Guardsmen, Ogryns, and even unusual xenos like the avian Kroot mercenary. Together, they will hunt down the heresy and corruption threatening the Imperium.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will soon launch on the Switch 2 and is currently available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, in addition to PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series X|S. Meanwhile, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will be entering Alpha later this year.
