The series finale of Stranger Things will be released simultaneously in theaters.
As Netflix approaches the conclusion of its arguably leading series, the streaming platform has announced plans to bid farewell to *Stranger Things* in a grand manner. The series finale will feature a special limited theatrical release, coinciding with its Netflix premiere on New Year’s Eve.
The finale will be accessible for viewing on Netflix at 5 PM PT, with screenings starting at the same time in theaters across the US and Canada. While the exact runtime has yet to be disclosed, *Stranger Things* creators Matt and Ross Duffer have hinted that it will have a feature-length duration resembling the fourth season finale of over two hours. This limited release will extend until January 1, 2026.
“We’re incredibly excited that fans will have the opportunity to see the final episode of *Stranger Things* in theaters — it’s been a dream of ours for years, and we’re so thankful to Ted [Sarandos, Netflix CEO], Bela [Bajaria, Netflix CCO], and everyone at Netflix for making this possible,” the Duffer Brothers expressed. “Experiencing it on the big screen, accompanied by impressive sound and visuals, with a packed audience, seems like the ideal — dare we say awesome — way to celebrate the conclusion of this adventure.”
Currently, announcements for additional releases in other regions, such as the UK, have not been made, but given the global success of *Stranger Things*, it is probable that Netflix will organize screenings in other locations.
The much-anticipated final season of *Stranger Things* will commence on November 26th, followed by Volume 2 on Christmas Eve and concluding with the finale on New Year’s Eve.
