      In Batman Ninja, a time displacement machine created by Gorilla Grodd sends many of Batman's most notorious foes back to feudal Japan, along with the Dark Knight and some of his allies. The villains adopt the roles of feudal lords who dominate the fractured region, with the Joker leading the competing factions. As Batman quickly depletes his usual high-tech weaponry, he must depend on his wits and his allies, including Catwoman and the larger Bat-family, to restore order and find a way back to modern Gotham City.
