Sebastian Stan joins the cast of The Batman Part II, featuring Robert Pattinson and Scarlett Johansson.
Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated The Batman Part II has expanded its cast with the addition of Sebastian Stan, known for his role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has appeared in Captain America and Avengers films, starred in his own series Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and is set to lead Thunderbolts*.
Stan's specific role in The Batman Part II is currently a secret, leaving it unclear whether he will portray an ally like Harvey Dent, a villain from Batman's extensive rogues gallery, or a mobster aiming to take control from Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin.
In The Batman Part II, Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman, accompanied by Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, and Farrell as Penguin. Scarlett Johansson, another MCU alum, will also have an undisclosed role in the film, while Barry Keoghan is expected to reprise his cameo as The Joker from the final moments of The Batman.
Despite joining the DC universe, Stan will still be part of the MCU for now, as he is scheduled to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday later this year.
Directed by Reeves and written by Mattson Tomlin, The Batman Part II is set to be released on October 1, 2027.
