Celebrating The Pitt and Industry weekend! For us, it feels like the TV equivalent of Barbenheimer.

In the latest episode of the Low Key podcast, we were prompted to share our excitement for upcoming pop culture events in 2026. Currently, our top highlight is the return of two of our favorite shows on HBO airing back to back. (We’re also looking forward to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. More details on that soon.)

If you're interested, you can tune in as we express our enthusiasm for The Pitt and Industry on your favorite podcast platform, or here:

Reasons We Recommend The Pitt and Industry

The Pitt captivated us and many viewers last year, receiving Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, and acting awards for lead Noah Wyle, supporting actress Katherine LaNasa, and guest star Shawn Hatosy. It tells the tale of a Pittsburgh ER, with each episode unfolding in real-time throughout a tumultuous 15-hour day.

The show subtly—and without being preachy—highlights how overarching policies impact the doctors and nurses striving daily to do their best.

A more somber yet even more addictive perspective on humanity is offered by Industry, which follows the experiences of Gen X and Gen Z finance professionals in London. Myha’la plays Hannah, an American who quickly demonstrates her ruthless efficiency, fitting in with her colleagues. Her mentor-turned-rival is Eric (Ken Leung), a middle-aged individual reluctant to pass the torch to the younger generation. The impressive cast also features Marisa Abela and Harry Lawtey, whom we consider a strong contender for the next James Bond.

As we've previously mentioned, Industry is essentially about young people attempting to profit amid an impending apocalypse. It’s currently our top show.

The new episode of the Low Key podcast isn’t solely focused on The Industry and The Pitt—your dedicated correspondent begins to sing their praises around the 28-minute mark. In the episode, we also delve into topics like Stranger Things, speculating whether Avengers: Doomsday will transcend mere nostalgia, along with other major entertainment narratives from our unfolding 2026.
