      You’re familiar with the classic horror movie line: “Some things are meant to stay buried.” Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is here to remind you of that, as this beloved monster film is receiving a fresh adaptation. Cronin, who gained recognition for 2023's Evil Dead Rise, is collaborating with producers James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville to deliver what is described as an “audacious and twisted retelling.”

      Details about the film are sparse, but the new teaser has certainly piqued fans' curiosity regarding the story of The Mummy. If his reinterpretation of Evil Dead is any indication, audiences can expect a thrilling experience.

      The plot centers around a journalist's young daughter who vanishes into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the devastated family is taken aback when she reappears, turning what should be a joyous reunion into a living nightmare.

      Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film worldwide, exclusively in theaters and IMAX in North America on April 17, 2026, and internationally starting April 15, 2026.
