Maika Monroe travels to Raccoon City in a stunning live-action short film for Resident Evil Requiem.
As we approach the release month, Capcom has released an exciting short film trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, featuring Longlegs and It Follows star Maika Monroe as a mother trying to survive the turmoil of the original zombie outbreak in Raccoon City.
This game marks the ninth chapter in the main story of the horror series, which has sold over 160 million copies since its debut in 1996. It brings back fan-favorite Leon S. Kennedy, who investigates a string of mysterious deaths, while our new protagonist, FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft—daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft—unwittingly pursues the same investigation.
Despite Monroe's absence from the game, the short film creates an epic, judgment day-like atmosphere for the survival horror experience, heightening anticipation for Zach Cregger’s film adaptation, set to premiere on September 18, 2026. Watch the trailer below…
“Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living. Resident Evil Requiem is the eagerly awaited ninth installment in the main Resident Evil series. Get ready to escape death in a thrilling experience that will send chills down your spine.”
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
