This officially licensed Universal Monsters collectible serves as an impressive homage to one of the most legendary monster films ever to hit the silver screen. Now realized in a three-dimensional, quarter-scale, full-color format, fans can add the enigmatic and misunderstood Gill-Man, who dwells deep within the jungle… and in our hearts, to their collections.
Exploring the depths of monster cinema, Sideshow boldly aims to uncover what scientists and explorers have simply labeled the Creature! Standing at 31.5 inches tall, 13.18 inches wide, and 12.8 inches deep, the Creature from the Black Lagoon Premium Format™ Figure showcases the Gill-Man reaching towards the river's surface. This amphibious humanoid swims upward through murky waters, surrounded by translucent plants and air bubbles, along with a school of red piranhas. Beneath, its fins skim the rocky riverbed, creating a stark contrast to the enticing dry land above. What — or who — might this inquisitive being find when it breaks into the light?
Drawing inspiration from Universal Studios’ Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), this horror collectible is rich in iconic details, reflecting the extensive effort put forth by our designers and artists as they meticulously reviewed every moment of the film in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences. The environmental base features a boat cable reminiscent of when a ship's part broke during Rita’s frantic escape. The figure is painted in a subtle green hue, complete with webbed hands, large eyes, and gills. Notably, the Gill-Man is missing a claw on its left foot, alluding to the scene where it was ensnared in a net by the film’s unfortunate expedition. Here, craftsmanship meets fandom, ensuring that no detail has been overlooked in bringing this remarkable character to life.
