Peter Dinklage joins the cast of the second season of FX's Alien: Earth.
Following its renewal late last year, FX's outstanding series Alien: Earth has announced its first cast member for the second season of Noah Hawley's sci-fi show, with Peter Dinklage, known for his role in Game of Thrones, joining the lineup.
According to a report from Deadline, the Emmy-winning actor will be a series regular in the upcoming season of Alien: Earth, alongside season one standout Sydney Chandler, who played the humanoid robot Wendy in the prequel narrative.
Filming is scheduled to begin this year, with production moving from Thailand to Pinewood Studios, the former home of the Alien franchise, which was the site of Aliens (1986), Alien³ (1992), and Prometheus (2012).
Written by Noah Hawley of Fargo fame and based on Ridley Scott's classic, Alien: Earth is set in 2120, two years prior to the events aboard the USCSS Nostromo. The story follows Wendy, a human-synthetic hybrid, as she leads an investigation into a crash in a bid to protect her brother, all amidst a corporate war and a dangerous xenomorph on the loose.
The first season of Alien: Earth featured a cast that included Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.
