Season 3 of My Adventures with Superman will introduce Cyborg Superman and Jessica Cruz.
It has been a few years since *My Adventures with Superman* came back with new episodes, and we now have confirmation of the premiere date for season three being June 13th, along with insights into what the young Man of Steel will face as several imitators attempt to claim the 'Superman' title.
Showrunner Jake Wyatt shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he and his team are adapting the *Reign of the Supermen* storyline for this season. This storyline serves as the finale of the *Death and Return of Superman* trilogy, where, following Superman's death at the hands of Doomsday, several impostors emerge asserting they are Superman, trying to fill the gap left in his absence. Since this typically occurs after Superman's death, which hasn't transpired in the series yet, it will offer a novel interpretation of the classic narrative.
The synopsis for the third season states: “Clark is eager to settle down and create a future with Lois, who fears that doing so might jeopardize her status as a leading reporter at The Daily Planet. Meanwhile, Kara, taking inspiration from her Kryptonian cousin, is now searching for a partner on Earth and has set her sights on Jimmy, who has become a celebrity journalist after revealing the existence of aliens.”
The promotional image features Cyborg Superman, one of Superman's most formidable foes. Formerly Hank Henshaw, an accident ruined his human form and resulted in his wife's death, with Henshaw blaming Superman for their misfortunes. He was transformed into Cyborg Superman in an effort to earn the Earth's trust while preparing for an alien invasion. Henshaw made a brief appearance in the season two finale of *My Adventures with Superman*, seemingly perishing when his fighter jet was shot down by Brainiac.
Additionally, Superboy will be introduced with a new take on his character, yet he will retain the traits of an arrogant hero who enjoys provoking Superman. John Henry Irons, also known as Steel, has been a recurring character since the first season but is expected to have a lighter role compared to his actual story. Wyatt hinted that should the series be renewed for a fourth season, Steel may play a more significant part.
The upcoming season will also feature Green Lantern Jessica Cruz as part of the setup for the spin-off *My Adventures with Green Lantern,* which is currently in active development but has not yet been officially approved by Adult Swim.
*My Adventures with Superman* features the voices of Jack Quaid (The Boys) as Superman/Clark Kent, Alice Lee (People We Meet on Vacation) as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid (Jury Duty) as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira (Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair) as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
*My Adventures with Superman* season three is set to premiere on June 13th.
