Netflix welcomes us to The Buroughs with a new trailer and images for its science fiction mystery series.

      With just over two weeks remaining until The Boroughs debuts on Netflix, the streaming service has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi mystery series created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) in collaboration with the Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things).

      The series follows the inhabitants of an idyllic retirement community, where a newcomer named Sam arrives and begins to suspect that all is not as it appears after a chilling encounter at night. Together with a group of local misfits, Sam embarks on a journey to uncover the sinister reality of their home before it’s too late.

      In the sunlit stretch of the New Mexico desert lies The Boroughs, an idyllic retirement community that promises its residents an enjoyable life. However, for newcomer Sam Cooper, paradise seems more like a prison. Everything shifts when a frightening encounter at night reveals that something monstrous lurks in the groomed cul-de-sacs. Brushed off by the authorities as just another confused elderly man, Sam finds unexpected allies in a group of neighborhood misfits: a sharp-tongued former journalist, a spiritual seeker, a jaded music manager, and a brilliant physician at a loss for solutions. Ignored and underestimated, these unconventional heroes must unite to uncover the dark secret at the core of The Boroughs before their time runs out.

      The Boroughs is set to premiere on Netflix on May 21st.
