Exciting wartime escapades come with the latest Commando Comics.
Four new Commando Comics have been released, delivering action and adventure to readers. This latest batch of thrilling comics (issues 5955-5958) features the epic conclusion to the Valiant Stormers Forlorn Hope series, an audacious SAS operation led by Captain Hulke, along with a couple of classics from the 1970s and 80s.
In issue 5955 (Home of Heroes): Dutiful Death, readers can experience the finale of the Valiant Stormers Forlorn Hope series. Set during the Napoleonic War, this tale follows the principled Lieutenant Jones as he navigates the Franco-Spanish border. When Jones bends the rules to save his mates, he faces court-martial and heartbreak, requiring the support of his old comrades to endure their final battle on Spanish soil.
Dutiful Death is penned by Andrew Knighton, with illustrations by Manuel Benet.
Issue 5956 (Gold): The Knife transports us to WWII in a story originally published in 1971 as No. 609. The narrative revolves around Private Bill Taylor, who received a special Commando knife after saving a friend's life. Now, with his friends deceased and the knife stolen by the same Nazi thug, Bill resolves to reclaim his knife and seek revenge for his fallen comrades.
The Knife is written by Richardson, featuring internal art by Cortes and a cover by Penalva.
In issue 5957, High-Value Target (For Action and Adventure), SAS Captain Hugh Hulke undertakes a mission to capture the prominent German SD officer, Olaf Metz. After successfully raiding Metz's hideout, his team captures six German officers, but the challenge lies in identifying the right one. Hulke races against time to pinpoint his target.
High Value Target is authored by Rossa McPhillips, with artwork by Vicente Alcazar and cover design by Marco Bianchini.
Ice-Cold Courage, issue 5958 (first published in 1985 as No. 1862), features the outdated and clumsy Fairey Swordfish, known as “Stringbags,” which proved highly effective in skilled pilots' hands. Tony Stanning, one such pilot, faces a crucial mission to attack a German battleship, needing all his bravery not because of enemy fire, but due to his cowardly observer in the rear cockpit.
Ice-Cold Courage is by McDevitt, with internal illustrations by Denis McLoughlin and cover art by Ian Kennedy.
These four new Commando Comics are now available on the Commando Comics website and at all reputable newsagents.
