Matt Reeves hints at a snowy Batmobile chase in The Batman Part II.

Director Matt Reeves is preparing to return to Gotham City for The Batman Part II and has teased fans with a Batmobile chase on the snowy streets of Gotham.

Reeves took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share images of a test run featuring the Batmobile driving through falling snow. This marks the first indication that The Batman Part II will be set during winter, adding to speculation that Mr. Freeze may make an appearance in the highly anticipated sequel.

Details about the sequel remain scarce as Reeves and writer Mattson Tomlin have kept information tightly under wraps, but it will continue from the events in the first film and the HBO series The Penguin, which showcased Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin exploiting Gotham's power vacuum in the criminal underworld to rise to the top. The winter setting raises numerous questions about who Batman will confront in the upcoming film.

The Batman Part II will feature Robert Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Barry Keoghan as The Joker. New additions to the sequel include Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson as Harvey Dent and his wife Gilda Dent, with Game of Thrones alum Charles Dance cast in an unknown role, believed to be Harvey Dent’s father.

With production now in progress, The Batman Part II is set to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
