New to Streaming: Miroirs No. 3, Kill Bill: The Complete Bloody Experience, Mother Mary, Palestine 36, and Additional Titles

Each week, we spotlight noteworthy titles that have recently become available on streaming platforms in the United States. Check out this week’s picks below and previous compilations here.

      **Arco (Ugo Bienvenu)**

In his debut feature, *Arco*, Ugo Bienvenu presents a unique and thought-provoking take on the solarpunk genre. He offers a glimpse into a sustainable utopia typical of this genre: clean air, lush gardens, flourishing wildlife, and cities in the clouds (imagine Jack and Victoria's home in *Oblivion*, but with much more greenery). Rather than contrasting this paradise with our current society, Bienvenu moves the reference point back by 50 years, portraying a world grappling with devastating wildfires and catastrophic storms, lamenting its inaction in critical times. This minor yet impactful shift in viewpoint lends a sobering sense of uncertainty to the playful adventure at the film’s core. – Oliver W. (full review)

      **The Bride! (Maggie Gyllenhaal)**

While many draw comparisons between Maggie Gyllenhaal’s *The Bride!* and another recent Warner Bros. antihero film that failed to resonate with mainstream audiences, *Joker: Folie à Deux*, I found both projects, if not revolutionary, then certainly more intriguing than typical Hollywood blockbusters. Crafted with sufficient care to utilize her substantial resources effectively, this film is infused with enough energy and style to suggest it may cultivate at least a minor cult following in the future. – Jordan R.

      **Bunnylovr (Katarina Zhu)**

Sensitive and nuanced, Katarina Zhu’s directorial debut *Bunnylovr* offers a compelling character study that never fully clarifies the tumultuous life of Becca (Zhu), a personal assistant by day and cam girl by night. Perhaps that's the point, as the film often flirts with something captivating only to retreat—potentially a trait of Becca herself, a millennial feeling trapped. Initially, she is attracted to a mysterious client who is reluctant to go on camera with her. The Philadelphia native receives a rare bunny in the mail for company, after which the client insists she perform. Their connection seems driven more by loneliness and isolation than mere fetish, yet the motivations of the stranger remain somewhat unclear until he establishes the terms, eventually clarifying that this is a business transaction. – John F.       **Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (Quentin Tarantino)**

One of the most memorable cinematic experiences I had last year was *Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair*, Quentin Tarantino’s version of the revenge saga that was initially released in two parts. By removing the cliffhanger ending of Volume 1 and the recap that started Volume 2, this version includes a never-before-seen 7½-minute animated sequence. With no new Quentin Tarantino film planned to direct in the near future, audiences can now enjoy this long-awaited gem from his filmography at home.

      Where to Stream: Peacock

      **Mile End Kicks (Chandler Levack)**

There’s a reason Alanis Morissette’s *Jagged Little Pill* resonates with Grace Pine (Barbie Ferreira). It’s the same reason her pitch convinces a publisher to grant her an advance and a contract to write a *33 1/3* book on the topic: the feminist anger; the honesty; the fact that the world was willing to pay millions to hear a woman lay bare her soul. The catharsis and inspiration it provides raise the question: what is preventing Grace from achieving similar success as an authentic voice and discerning music critic in Toronto? The initial adrenaline rush offers the answer: “Nothing!” But the inevitable reality check reveals the answer: herself. – Jared M. (full review)

      **Miroirs No. 3 (Christian Petzold)**

Christian Petzold’s fifteenth feature *Miroirs No. 3* marks his fourth collaboration with Paula Beer, the actor-muse he first directed in 2018’s *Transit*, a film that shares significant themes with this latest work—primarily the inexplicable connections between total strangers that prompt immediate, profound bonds without words. Not surprisingly, *Miroirs No. 3* is, like its predecessors, an enigma. – Luke H. (full review)

      **Mother Mary (David Lowery)**

The first thing we hear in *Mother Mary* is Michaela Coel’s voice. She anticipates the arrival of Mother Mary and cautions us that this story is cursed. Anyone who has been watching television over the past decade can recognize the richness and clarity of her tone. But now, on the big screen, we experience it louder than ever. Writer-direct
