A new trailer has been released for Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, featuring Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, and Guy Pearce.

      Following the announcement that the director is collaborating with Hugh Jackman on a Treasure Island adaptation, 20th Century Studios has unveiled a second trailer and a new poster for Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic survival thriller, The Dog Stars.

      Adapted from Peter Heller’s praised 2012 novel of the same title, the film features Jacob Elordi as Hig, a widowed pilot struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic landscape while protecting himself and his dog Jasper from ruthless scavengers called the Reapers. He shares his abandoned hangar home with an eccentric ex-Marine named Bangley, played by Josh Brolin, until a radio transmission sparks hope for a better life.

      The cast also includes Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney. You can watch the trailer below.

      “The film tells the story of Hig, a pilot who survived the flu pandemic but lost his wife. He resides in an abandoned hangar with his dog and an odd ex-Marine, defending against wandering scavengers known as Reapers. When a strange radio transmission comes through, Hig starts to envision that something better might still exist beyond his current existence.”

      The Dog Stars is set to be released in theaters on August 28th.
