20th Century Studios has unveiled the trailer for Whalefall, their film adaptation of Daniel Kraus’ acclaimed novel, in which Austin Abrams (Weapons) is engulfed by a sperm whale and must find a way out before his air supply depletes.
Directed by Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You), who co-wrote the screenplay with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Kraus, Whalefall features a cast that includes Josh Brolin (Dune III), Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas), and John Ortiz (Nobody 2). Check out the poster and teaser trailer below…
After the passing of his father (Josh Brolin), Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) dives off the central California coast in search of his remains, but ends up being swallowed by a colossal sperm whale. Trapped within its body and facing dwindling oxygen, Jay comes to realize that the valuable lessons his father taught him might hold the key to his survival.
Whalefall will be released in theaters on October 16th.
