On the night British-born boxer Duke Kilroy (Howard Charles) achieves his dream of becoming world heavyweight champion, a brutal attack results in the death of his brother, Calvin. Heartbroken by the tragedy, Duke’s response leads to an eight-year prison sentence in the U.S. After his release and discovering something ominous, Duke heads home to exact revenge on the man he believes betrayed him — the criminal kingpin and former promoter, Kingsley Marshall (Nicholas Pinnock). However, Kingsley has disappeared, leaving his children and wife, Joy (Deborah Ayorinde), who is also Duke’s former love, to cope with the aftermath.
Teaming up with a cartel eager to dominate London’s drug scene, Duke engages in a perilous strategy to infiltrate Kingsley’s operation in order to destroy it and flush out his adversary. But in a dangerous underworld filled with competing pressures threatening to derail him, Duke must harness everything that made him a champion fighter to achieve the ultimate goal – vengeance for his brother.
Fightland premieres on Starz on July 31st.
