Marvel commemorates 50 years of The Muppet Show with a one-shot comic titled The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe.

      Marvel Comics has announced a celebration for the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show this September, featuring the release of a one-shot comic titled The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1. This issue will showcase a variety of creators, including Chip Zdarsky, Pete Woods, Ashley Allen, MacKenzie Cadenhead, Kyle Starks, David Baldeon, Mike Henderson, and others, as they unleash the Muppets’ signature chaos into the Marvel universe through several stories.

      In one tale, Rowlf the Dog is abducted by Mojo to assist with launching his new streaming service. This unexpected crossover brings together Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Wolverine, Emma Frost, and many more as they work to save the day in a pop culture landmark adventure by Chip Zdarsky and Pete Woods.

      Another story features Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker inviting Bruce Banner and Hank Pym to Muppet Labs for a risky experiment involving Gamma Rays and Pym Particles. Discover what goes awry in this explosive narrative from Kyle Starks and Mike Henderson.

      When Clea contracts a mystical virus and Doctor Strange lacks the remedy, unexpected help comes in the form of the Swedish Chef, as told in this appetizing narrative by Ashley Allen and Paco Medina.

      Pigs in Space collide with space raccoons in a story full of cosmic chaos, where Captain Link Hogthrob, First Mate Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork encounter Rocket Raccoon and Groot in a space adventure penned by MacKenzie Cadenhead and David Baldeon.

      Additional stories will be contributed by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Adam F. Goldberg, E.J. Su, and Áthila Fabbio.

I vow not to disappoint Kermit, Fozzie, and Animal as Spider-Man disappointed his Uncle Ben," stated Zdarsky. “I cannot express how thrilled I was to write for Miss Piggy, an icon of the last century who resonates with every generation. I also had the chance to write Deadpool. Furthermore, Pete Woods is producing breathtaking, detailed, and joyous artwork. It's truly a joy to see his interpretation of these characters interacting.”

      Alongside the main cover by Nick Bradshaw, The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1 will feature variant covers by Ron Lim, Humberto Ramos, Matteo Lolli, and a logo mash-up.

      The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1 will be available for purchase on September 23rd, 2026.
