Drac and Mavis are set to return in The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania.

      Prepare to revisit Hotel Transylvania next year, as Sony Animation and Amazon MGM have announced that a fifth film in the series, titled The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania, will be released in theaters on October 8, 2027.

      This new installment follows the fourth film from 2022, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, where Drac officially retires, passing on the hotel's management to his daughter, Mavis. The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania will showcase the iconic castle and monster resort facing unusual situations as it encounters its own haunting. Given the hotel's clientele, it must be a particularly odd and dangerous ghost to warrant concern from Drac, Mavis, and their guests. According to the official synopsis:

      Drac is enjoying his retirement while Mavis takes charge of the famed monster hotel. However, when a series of eerie and mysterious events creates a chill within the resort, the Drac Pack sets off on their most captivating adventure yet: solving the mystery behind the haunting of Hotel Transylvania.

      Sony and Amazon collaborated on the release of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania during the pandemic, allowing the film to premiere on Prime Video instead of in theaters. As part of that agreement, Amazon MGM would co-produce any future installments of the franchise. Sony will manage theatrical distribution in North America and certain international areas, while Amazon MGM will oversee the global release.

      The series has featured voice talents such as Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon, Asher Blinkoff, Kathryn Hahn, and Mel Brooks. Sandler was unable to voice Dracula in Transformania due to scheduling issues, along with Kevin James as Frankenstein, resulting in their roles being taken over by Brian Hull and Brad Abrell. The voice cast for The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania has not yet been revealed, leaving the return of Sandler, James, and other original cast members uncertain.
