First teaser for Mike Flanagan's latest adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie.

      Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Mike Flanagan’s eagerly awaited adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel, Carrie. The eight-episode series featuring Summer Howell in the iconic role of Carrie White is set to debut on Prime this October.

      Published in 1974, Carrie tells the story of teenage Carrie White, who endures bullying in school and abuse at home from her deeply religious mother. As she unexpectedly gains telekinetic powers and begins to forge real friendships, her circumstances take a turn for the worse, leading to an escalation of bullying that results in a tragic use of her powers. Sissy Spacek originally played Carrie in the 1976 film, while Chloë Grace Moretz took on the part in the 2013 remake.

      Howell is joined by Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.       The story follows misfit high schooler Carrie White (Summer Howell), who has lived a secluded life under the watchful eye of her overprotective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). Following the sudden death of her father, Carrie is thrust into the harsh reality of public high school, where she must confront a viral bullying scandal that rocks her community, the constant pressures and cruelty of social media, and the emergence of her unexplained telekinetic abilities that develop as she matures.

      Spread over eight dynamic episodes, the series enriches King’s cultural touchstone by deepening the characters and tensions, exploring the small, everyday decisions that lead to a singular, devastating night. It offers a compelling, deeply human narrative about kindness versus cruelty and questions whether we are witnessing the birth of a hero, a monster, or something even more complex.

      Carrie will be available on Prime Video starting October 7th.
