Air Bud returns to the court in the trailer for Air Bud Returns.

      Nearly 30 years after Buddy first appeared in 1997’s Air Bud, the beloved sports-loving Golden Retriever returns in the 15th installment of the franchise, Air Bud Returns.

      Written and directed by Robert Vince, who has directed ten of the previous fifteen films, the story centers on Jacob (Aydin Artis), a 14-year-old coping with his father's death. He stumbles upon a VHS copy of the original Air Bud while forming a bond with a stray Golden Retriever that shares a knack for basketball. Take a look at the poster and trailer below.

      Following his father's passing, Jacob and his mother relocate to his father’s childhood home in Fernfield, a place where anything can happen. Jacob aspires to be a basketball star, a dream that feels distant until he discovers a VHS labeled “Air Bud.” He then has a serendipitous encounter with Buddy, a basketball-playing Golden Retriever. Together, they embark on a healing journey, bring together a team of misfit basketball players, and pursue a championship as the new Timberwolves.

      Air Bud Returns is slated for release on January 22nd, 2027.
