Exclusive Trailer for William Wrubel’s When We Saw Each Other More Often Introduces a Fresh Perspective
Last year, I had the opportunity to watch When We Saw Each Other More Often, the debut feature by William Wrubel, a young American director who has trained under Angela Schanelec and established his own collective, Geister Film. While many will draw comparisons between the two, Wrubel is already forging his own unique and complex path; the visuals from the film have lingered with me longer than most other films I've encountered since then.
Following its world premiere at last year’s Downtown Festival, When We Saw Each Other More Often is set for a U.S. release from Several Futures, starting at New York’s Roxy Cinema on August 25, accompanied by the release of a trailer.
Here’s the synopsis: “Flora departs. Antonis is left behind. Elit moves in. Benni and Caro struggle to move forward. In the classrooms, cafes, bars, and train stations of an unnamed German city, the lives of various young individuals come together.”
