Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, the fourth installment of the true-crime anthology series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Ella Beatty stars in the title role as a young woman from a wealthy family in New England who was both accused and acquitted in 1892 of brutally murdering her parents with an axe.
Joining Beatty in the cast are Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd, and Jessica Barden. You can watch the trailer below…
When the repressed daughter of an affluent New England family and her defiant maid find themselves trapped in a household filled with humiliation and cruelty, they escape into a fantasy of sex, power, and revenge. The horrifying unsolved murders that ensue not only shock the world but also give rise to an icon who refuses to remain confined. Instead, she chooses to create her own legend: shocking, monstrous, and magnificently free.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story premieres on Netflix on September 17th.
