SEGA's Golden Axe is being adapted into an animated series, with a trailer released for Paramount+.

      Paramount+ has released the initial trailer for Golden Axe, the forthcoming animated adventure series that pays tribute to the iconic 1989 SEGA video game. The story follows a band of legendary warriors and a clumsy adventurer as they join forces to rescue the realm of Yuria from the malevolent Death Adder.

      The series features the vocal talents of Matthew Rhys as Gilius Thunderhead, Danny Pudi as Hampton Squib, Lisa Gilroy as Tyris Flare, Liam McIntyre as Ax Battler, and Carl Tart as Chronos “Evil” Lait. You can watch the trailer below…

      Golden Axe centers on the celebrated warriors Ax Battler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead as they come together to save Yuria from the wicked giant Death Adder, who refuses to remain defeated. Their mission is further complicated by Hampton Squib, an untrained and hopelessly ill-prepared adventurer whose aspirations of heroism far surpass his skills. Despite their shortcomings, they must collaborate to find a way to vanquish Death Adder once and for all.

      Golden Axe is set to premiere on Paramount+ on September 16th.
