SEGA's Golden Axe is being transformed into an animated series, as revealed in a trailer for Paramount+.

      Paramount+ has released the first trailer for Golden Axe, the forthcoming animated adventure series that pays tribute to the classic 1989 SEGA video game. The storyline follows a group of legendary heroes and a clumsy adventurer as they join forces to rescue the land of Yuria from the wicked Death Adder.

      The series features the voices of Matthew Rhys as Gilius Thunderhead, Danny Pudi as Hampton Squib, Lisa Gilroy as Tyris Flare, Liam McIntyre as Ax Battler, and Carl Tart as Chronos “Evil” Lait. You can watch the trailer below…

      Golden Axe portrays the legendary warriors Ax Battler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead coming together again to protect Yuria from the formidable giant Death Adder, who refuses to die. Their mission is made more challenging by Hampton Squib, an untrained and woefully unprepared adventurer whose aspirations of being a hero far surpass his skills. Despite their individual shortcomings, they must collaborate to find a way to defeat Death Adder once and for all.

      Golden Axe is set to premiere on Paramount+ on September 16th.
