Dopo cinque anni di pace in seguito agli eventi della prima stagione, il passato collettivo di Joel ed Ellie li raggiunge, facendoli entrare in conflitto tra loro e in un mondo ancora più pericoloso e imprevedibile di quello che si sono lasciati alle spalle.
La seconda stagione di The Last of Us vede il ritorno di Pedro Pascal e Bella Ramsay nei panni di Joel ed Ellie e di Diego Luna in quelli di Tommy. Tra i nuovi arrivati figurano Kaitlyn Dever nel ruolo di Abby, Isabela Merced nel ruolo di Dina, Young Mazino nel ruolo di Jesse, Ariela Barer nel ruolo di Mel, Tati Gabrielle nel ruolo di Nora, Spencer Lord nel ruolo di Owen, Danny Ramirez nel ruolo di Manny e Jeffrey Wright nel ruolo di Isaac. La seconda stagione di The Last of Us arriverà sulla HBO nell'aprile del 2025.
