Avatar: Seven Havens: la serie animata continuerà con i creatori originali

      Il franchise di Avatar: The Last Airbender continuerà con una nuova serie animata, Avatar: Seven Havens. Ambientato dopo La leggenda di Korra con i creatori originali Michael DiMartino e Bryan Konietzko che ritornano, Seven Havens segue il prossimo Avatar del ciclo durante un evento catastrofico in cui gli Avatar non sono più fidati.

      Avatar: Seven Havens vede il mondo “distrutto da un devastante cataclisma. Una giovane Earthbender scopre di essere il nuovo Avatar dopo Korra, ma in questa era pericolosa, quel titolo la segna come distruttrice dell'umanità, non come la sua salvatrice. Inseguita da nemici umani e spirituali, lei e il suo gemello perduto da tempo devono scoprire le loro misteriose origini e salvare i Sette Paradisi prima che le ultime roccaforti della civiltà crollino.”

      Avatar: The Last Airbender è stato presentato per la prima volta nel 2006. Nel mondo della serie le persone possono controllare gli elementi di aria, acqua, terra e fuoco, ma solo un Avatar scelto può piegarli alla loro volontà. Ogni generazione un nuovo Avatar viene scelto dal destino, in bicicletta attraverso le quattro nazioni elementali per il suo successore. La serie originale seguiva Aang, un giovane dominatore dell'aria che è stato chiamato Avatar mentre The Legend of Korra si concentrava sul waterbender Korra che ha ottenuto il titolo.

      Avatar: Seven Havens sarà prodotto da Avatar Studios nel tradizionale formato 2D del franchise. Al momento, si svolgerà per 26 episodi suddivisi in Book 1 e Book 2 con DiMartino e Konietzko come produttori esecutivi insieme a Ethan Spaulding e Sehaj Sethi.

      "Quando abbiamo creato la serie originale, non avremmo mai immaginato di espandere il mondo decenni dopo", hanno dichiarato DiMartino e Konietzko. "Questa nuova incarnazione dell'Avatarverse è piena di fantasia, mistero e un cast completamente nuovo di personaggi fantastici. Preparatevi a prendere un'altra avventura epica ed emozionante!”

      "Per due decenni, il mondo riccamente creato di Avatar: The Last Airbender ha introdotto il pubblico in un mondo di personaggi avvincenti e trame rivoluzionarie, affascinando i fan a livello globale”, ha dichiarato Ramsey Naito, Presidente di Paramount Animation e Nickelodeon Animation. "Non vediamo l'ora di imbarcarci nel prossimo capitolo di questa epica saga, con una nuova storia ambientata all'interno dell'Avatarverse, immaginata dai creatori originali, Michael DiMartino e Bryan Konietzko.”

      Questa è l'ultima espansione del franchise Avatar. Oltre all'adattamento live-action di Netflix della serie animata e ad altri romanzi spin-off di Avatar precedenti – così come il romanzo Avatar Legends appena annunciato – Paramount Animation e Nickelodeon stanno sviluppando tre film animati di Avatar: The Last Airbender con il primo a concentrarsi su Aang negli anni tra The Last Airbender e Legend of Korra. Il film uscirà nelle sale il 30 gennaio 2026.
