Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars has added Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, and Guy Pearce to its cast.
Ridley Scott has expanded the cast for his upcoming adaptation of The Dog Stars. As reported by Deadline, Margaret Qualley (The Substance), Josh Brolin (Dune: Part Two), and Guy Pearce (Memento) will join Jacob Elordi from Saltburn in this post-apocalyptic narrative.
The story revolves around Elordi's character, Hig, a solitary pilot navigating a desolate America. Residing in an abandoned airbase, Hig traverses the barren landscape with his elderly dog, Jasper, as he seeks to survive and locate other survivors.
Qualley will portray Cima, “an intern doctor and the daughter of a protective, weary rancher” played by Guy Pearce, who fiercely safeguards his family and sanctuary.
Brolin will take on the role of Bangley, a 'Ranger' who shares the airbase with Hig, and the two bear each other’s company with reluctance.
The screenplay for The Dog Stars is based on Peter Heller's work, adapted by Christopher Wilkinson (Ali) and Mark L. Smith (Twisters). Scott will produce through his company Scott Free Productions, alongside Michael Pruss, Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts. Filming is set to commence in April in Italy.
