Neon has unveiled a poster and trailer for The Actor, the forthcoming adaptation of Donald E. Westlake’s 2010 novel Memory, directed by Duke Johnson. This mystery-thriller, set in the 1950s, features Andre Holland as Paul, an actor who awakens in a small Ohio town without any memory of his identity or the events leading up to his arrival. The story follows his quest to return home and reclaim his life after being beaten and left for dead.

Alongside Holland, the cast includes Gemma Chan, May Calamawy, Asim Chaudhry, Joe Cole, Fabien Frankel, Olwen Fouéré, Youssef Kerkour, Simon McBurney, Tanya Reynolds, Edward Hogg, Toby Jones, Tracey Ullman, and Scott Alexander Young. You can view the trailer below…

In The Actor, Paul Cole (Holland) finds himself in an enigmatic small town, completely unaware of who he is or how he arrived there. Lacking a sense of identity or direction, he starts over and begins to develop a relationship with a local costume designer named Edna (Chan). As fragments of his past gradually resurface, he strives to navigate his way back home, though time feels elusive, appearances are deceptive, and it becomes difficult to discern which of his identities is genuine.

The Actor is scheduled to be released on March 14th.
