The Actor Trailer: Noir Drama Starring André Holland Debuts This March

After co-directing Anomalisa with Charlie Kaufman, anticipation has been building for Duke Johnson’s next film, The Actor. It has been ten years since the filmmaker’s last project, and the drama is finally ready for release through NEON, arriving sooner than expected. The noir, featuring André Holland, is set to hit theaters in less than a month, on March 14, and the first trailer and poster have now been unveiled.

Here’s the synopsis: “Adapted from the novel Memory by Donald E. Westlake, The Actor follows Paul Cole (Holland) as he finds himself trapped in an enigmatic small town with no recollection of his identity or how he arrived there. Lacking a sense of self and direction, he starts anew and begins to pursue a local costume designer, Edna (Chan). As fragments of his past gradually surface, he tries to navigate his way home, but time is elusive, appearances may be deceptive, and it remains uncertain which of his identities is authentic.”
