MUBI's lineup for March 2025 features films by Hou Hsiao-hsien, Quentin Dupieux, Joanna Hogg, and others.

MUBI has announced its streaming lineup for the upcoming month, including Hou Hsiao-hsien’s The Assassin, Zhang Yimou’s Shadow, and Quentin Dupieux’s Daaaaaali!, as well as El Planeta by Amalia Ulman, whose latest feature Magic Farm premiered at Sundance and was acquired by the platform. Another significant addition is Joanna Hogg’s new short film Autobiography of a Handbag, which is also available for streaming below.

In his review of Quentin Dupieux’s Daaaaaali!, Alistair Ryder noted, “Even with several of France’s top character actors portraying the renowned Spaniard, this film does not serve as an I’m Not There-style homage to the artist’s essence through an unconventional lens like similar works. Dupieux clearly shows no inclination towards those biopic sub-genres, although he expresses a distinct admiration for his subject. Instead, his whimsical narrative subverts all biopic expectations in wonderfully absurd ways. As with his other recent projects, there lies a deeper question beneath the overt humor, yet it’s not designed to become a grand thesis that overshadows the comedy. Rather, the film’s inherent absurdity contributes to a critique of the biopic genre's fundamental shortcomings and probes whether artists should permit another's voice to reshape their narratives into different words.”
