Nicole Kidman Reveals a Hidden Truth in the Premiere Trailer for Holland.
After years in development, with Errol Morris initially set to direct in 2013, the thriller Holland (previously titled Holland, Michigan) finally began production in spring 2023, directed by Mimi Cave (Fresh). Starring Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal, Matthew Macfadyen, and Jude Hill, the film will have its world premiere at SXSW before being released on Prime Video on March 27. Before its release, the first trailer has been unveiled.
Here’s the synopsis: “In this highly unpredictable thriller, Nicole Kidman portrays Nancy Vandergroot, a detail-oriented teacher and homemaker whose seemingly perfect life with her supportive husband (Matthew Macfadyen) and son (Jude Hill) in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan spirals into a dark narrative. Nancy and her friendly coworker (Gael García Bernal) begin to suspect a hidden secret, only to uncover that nothing in their lives is as it appears.”
