20th Century Studios has released a new trailer for The Amateur, an upcoming espionage action-thriller directed by James Hawes (One Life).
Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek plays Charlie Heller, a reserved CIA decoder whose life spirals out of control after the death of his wife in a terrorist attack. When his superiors refuse to act, Charlie embarks on a personal mission for revenge, undertaking a perilous journey around the world to track down those responsible for her murder.
The cast alongside Malek includes Laurence Fishburne, Rachel Brosnahan, Caitríona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson, Adrian Martinez, and Danny Sapani. You can watch the trailer below…
“Charlie Heller (Malek) is an exceptionally talented but very introverted decoder for the CIA, operating from a basement office at headquarters in Langley. His world is shattered when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack in London. As his supervisors decline to take action, he decides to take control, setting out on a perilous journey around the globe to find those accountable, using his intelligence as a key advantage to evade his pursuers and fulfill his quest for vengeance.”
The Amateur is set to be released in theaters on April 11th.
