Keegan-Michael Key has been cast in season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.

As the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building enters production, the first official cast member joining the upcoming season has been announced. According to Deadline, Keegan-Michael Key will appear alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez in their next murder investigation.

It remains unclear whether Key will play a new resident of the Arconia or a character from outside the well-known building. Another potential cast member is Téa Leoni, who had a cameo in the fourth season's finale as a woman seeking to hire Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to investigate her husband's disappearance. It’s possible that her storyline could connect with their latest case.

The fourth season concluded with the discovery of Lester the doorman's body in the fountain of the Arconia's courtyard. Lester, a recurring character since the series began, has frequently assisted the trio in their investigations and was beloved by all in the building, making his murder particularly shocking.

We will have to wait and see who else may join the fifth season as the list of suspects for the podcast hosts continues to grow.

"In season four of “Only Murders in the Building,” our amateur podcasting trio grapples with the startling events at the conclusion of season three involving Charles’ stunt double and friend, Sazz Pataki. Unsure whether she or Charles was the target, their investigation takes them all the way to Los Angeles, where a Hollywood studio prepares to make a film about the Only Murders podcast. As Charles, Oliver, and Mabel rush back to New York, they embark on an even more epic adventure—navigating their building’s courtyard to explore the tangled lives of the residents in the West Tower of the Arconia."
