Neil Patrick Harris is set to join the cast of Dexter: Resurrection.

As production on **Dexter: Resurrection** moves forward, Showtime has revealed that Neil Patrick Harris, known for **How I Met Your Mother**, is the latest addition to the cast of the new **Dexter** season.

**Dexter: Resurrection** will continue from the end of **New Blood**, where Dexter was shot by his son Harrison in an attempt to evade the law and seek redemption for his actions. However, the opening scene of **Dexter: Original Sin** showed that he did not die immediately and was instead being rushed to a hospital to be saved.

Harris will take on a guest role portraying a character referred to simply as Lowell. He joins new cast members Peter Dinklage, who will play a billionaire with a sinister secret, Uma Thurman, who will be his head of security, and Krysten Ritter, who portrays a serial killer.

**Dexter: Resurrection** is created, showrun, and executive produced by Clyde Phillips, the original creator of **Dexter**, with Hall also serving as an executive producer. Currently, filming is taking place in New York City, with a summer premiere anticipated on Showtime and Paramount+.

Joining Michael C. Hall in the returning cast are David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan. New cast members include Uma Thurman as Charley, Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.
