Taylor Sheridan's Landman has been renewed for a second season.
Two months after its season finale, Taylor Sheridan's *Landman* has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+. The show stars Billy Bob Thornton and centers on a billionaire in Texas's thriving oil industry, navigating competition and the evolving perceptions about the industry's impact on the world.
The series debuted in November 2024 and completed its first season in January. *Landman* is part of Sheridan's extensive television enterprise and has garnered significant praise from both critics and audiences, notably holding the record for the most-watched premiere and finale of any Paramount+ series.
Sheridan is best known for creating *Yellowstone*, which concluded its five-season run just before *Landman* premiered. Following that show's end, Sheridan has also introduced the *Yellowstone* prequel *1923*, which has just started its second season, alongside *Lioness*, which is still pending a third season, as well as *Mayor of Kingstown* and *Tulsa King*.
Set against the backdrop of West Texas boomtowns, the series tells a contemporary story of those seeking fortune within the oil rig sector. Inspired by the acclaimed 11-part podcast *Boomtown*, it presents an upstairs/downstairs narrative featuring roughnecks and wildcat billionaires driving a massive boom that is transforming our climate, economy, and geopolitics.
Based on Christian Wallace's podcast *Boomtown*, the cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Michael Peña.
*Landman* is available for streaming on Paramount+.
