
The trailer for Princess Mononoke invites you to witness Miyazaki's epic in IMAX for the very first time.
Studio Ghibli has unveiled the trailer for the 4K restoration of their 1997 animated masterpiece, Princess Mononoke, which will be shown on IMAX screens for the first time this March.
Written and directed by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki, this fantasy epic chronicles the journey of a young boy named Ashitaka, who searches for a remedy for his cursed arm and becomes caught up in a conflict among Gods, Monsters, and the eponymous Princess.
The English Language dub of Princess Mononoke is narrated by Keith David and features an ensemble that includes Billy Crudup, Billy Bob Thornton, Minnie Driver, John DiMaggio, Claire Danes, John DeMita, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Gillian Anderson. Watch the trailer below…
“In the 14th century, the balance enjoyed by humans, animals, and gods begins to deteriorate. The main character, young Ashitaka—who is afflicted by an animal attack—seeks healing from the deer-like god Shishigami. During his journey, he witnesses humans devastating the land, inciting the fury of wolf god Moro and his human ally, Princess Mononoke. His efforts to mediate peace between her and the humans only lead to further conflict.”
Princess Mononoke will be released in IMAX theaters on March 26th.
