The Hornet's Sting update introduces new jet fighters to War Thunder.
Gaijin Entertainment has launched the new Hornet’s Sting update for their large-scale multiplayer online shooter, War Thunder. This update brings new jet fighters from China, Russia, and the US, along with numerous other military vehicles. Check out the new trailer below to view more of these additions.
The update features the F/A-18 “Hornet” jet, widely utilized by the United States and Sweden. This aircraft boasts impressive flight capabilities and can carry a diverse range of missiles and bombs, including both guided and conventional types. Additionally, the update introduces the Su-30SM, a sophisticated twin-engine Russian fighter that can reach speeds of Mach 2. Pilots in this aircraft will benefit from a passive electronically scanned array (PESA radar) and multifunction displays. Lastly, the J-11B represents China's modernization of the Su-27 fighters imported from Russia. This jet provides significant thrust in afterburner mode and can be equipped with a combination of Russian and local high-precision missiles and guided bombs.
For players who prefer ground combat, the new 2S19 Msta-S, a self-propelled 152 mm howitzer, is now available. This vehicle features an automatic loader with a solid selection of shells, including HE-VT, HEAT, and APHEBC types. Despite its powerful firepower and quick reload rate, it has light armor, so finding a secure position away from enemy sight is advisable.
A substantial number of vehicles have been added in this update, such as the Tracked Rapier SAM and the USS Colorado super-dreadnought equipped with 16-inch guns, making it worthwhile to review the game’s changelog here.
