MUBI has unveiled a trailer, poster, and images for Harvest, the forthcoming adaptation of Jim Crace’s Booker Prize-nominated novel, directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari (Chevalier, Attenburg) and featuring Caleb Landry-Jones, Harry Melling, Rosy McEwan, Arinzé Kene, Thalissa Teixeira, and Frank Dillane. In Tsangari’s captivating period drama, a nameless village in an ambiguous time and location vanishes over the course of seven surreal days. Townsman-turned-farmer Walter Thirsk (Caleb Landry-Jones) and bewildered manor lord Charles Kent (Harry Melling), who are childhood friends, must confront an invasion from the outside world. Their agrarian society, reliant on the land, faces disruption from three types of outsiders: a mapmaker (Arinze Kene), a company man (Frank Dillane), and migrants from elsewhere, all embodying the trauma of approaching modernity.
Harvest will be released in theaters on July 18th, followed by its streaming debut on MUBI starting August 8th.
