Black Cat transitions from master thief to superhero in the new Marvel series.
Marvel Comics has revealed that Felicia Hardy is leaving her cat-burgling days behind, embarking on a brand new journey into superheroism in *Black Cat*, an ongoing series penned by writer G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel) and illustrated by Gleb Melnikov (Amazing Spider-Man). But is this transformation driven by altruism, or is it simply a strategy to execute her most ambitious heist yet?
“As soon as *Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood* was released and readers encountered the Black Cat storyline, they began asking me, ‘When are you going to write more about Felicia?’ Well, the answer is: right now,” Wilson stated. “Working with Black Cat is incredibly enjoyable. She’s a supporting character with the energy of a lead. Her extensive history offers countless intriguing storylines to explore.”
“I was eager to illustrate more of Felicia after completing my first Spider-Man issue, so when [Editor] Tom Groneman inquired if I wanted to contribute to the Black Cat series, I responded ‘YES!’ quicker than a bolt of lightning,” Melnikov remarked. “Black leather, street-level battles, and the opportunity to depict our favorite characters from Spider-Man’s rogues gallery? Count me in! I’m also thrilled to collaborate with Willow and color artist Brian Valenza.”
