BrokenLore: Don't Watch introduces psychological horror to Steam.
Serafini Productions and Shochiku have announced the launch of their immersive psychological horror game, BrokenLore: Don’t Watch, on Steam. A new, unsettling trailer has been released, showcasing the frightening environment players will encounter.
Set primarily in a six-square-meter Tokyo apartment, BrokenLore: Don’t Watch depicts a young man who has isolated himself from the outside world to escape the crushing societal pressures. As he withdraws mentally, he experiences extreme social isolation, embodying the hikikomori phenomenon.
Inspired by the Japanese mythical creature Hyakume (which means “hundred eyes”), known for causing death to anyone who makes direct eye contact, players must evade its gaze at critical times to survive.
Developed in collaboration with a professional psychologist, this psychological horror game explores themes of anxiety, isolation, and the relentless cycle of societal judgment. The title aims to provide an artistic and thought-provoking experience.
Features:
- An innovative mechanic requiring players to cover their eyes at crucial moments to survive.
- An engaging psychological horror narrative rooted in realistic fears.
- A combination of hyper-realistic and retro-style graphics.
- An interconnected story set within the expansive BrokenLore series universe.
- Challenges players on multiple levels with its multi-layered storytelling.
BrokenLore: Don’t Watch is now available on Steam.
