Amazon has decided to terminate the Kevin Bacon series The Bondsman after just one season.
Amazon has cancelled The Bondsman, as Variety has reported that the streaming service will not renew the Kevin Bacon-led Prime Video action horror series for a second season.
The show premiered last month, featuring Bacon as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who, after being murdered, is given a second chance at life, love, and his musical dreams when the Devil resurrects him. He is then tasked with capturing demons that have escaped from Hell. Co-starring Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy, The Bondsman received mostly favorable reviews and ranked #10 in the Nielsen streaming originals chart during its debut week. Additional viewing statistics are not available, and Prime has not yet made any official statement about the cancellation.
In The Bondsman, Kevin Bacon portrays Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter brought back to life by the Devil to hunt down and return demons that have fled from Hell. As he pursues these demons, supported and hindered by his estranged family, Hub comes to understand how his own transgressions condemned his soul, motivating him to seek another chance at life, love, and a career in country music.
The Bondsman is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
