Brie Larson will star in the creature feature Fail-Safe, produced by J.J. Abrams.
Brie Larson, known for her role in Captain Marvel, is collaborating with producer J.J. Abrams on Fail-Safe, a horror film featuring creatures, directed by JT Mollner (Strange Darling) and based on a script by Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You).
According to Deadline, Fail-Safe is characterized as “a contemporary interpretation of the creature horror genre from the viewpoint of a young boy who gradually uncovers a troubling secret about his mother’s true identity that his cherished parents have been concealing.”
“Brian Duffield has crafted an outstanding script with Fail-Safe,” stated Abrams. “It is a horror film that blends sweetness and emotional depth with genuine terror. Having JT Mollner, whose work in Strange Darling impressed me immensely, directing is a dream come true. And with the incredibly talented Brie Larson as our leading actress, Fail-Safe is poised to be a unique horror film that elicits laughter, emotion, and connection, before taking viewers on an exhilarating experience.”
“I am incredibly eager to witness Brie embody this role – it’s terrifying, deeply emotional, and unlike anything she has taken on previously,” remarked producer Drew Simon from Infrared. “The character's required depth and intensity are significant, and I’m certain Brie will deliver something memorable on screen.”
Additionally, Abrams’ Bad Robot will be producing Fail-Safe alongside Infrared, the new production label from FilmNation Entertainment, which has recently released the action thriller Novocaine featuring Jack Quaid.
