Big Finish has announced the arrival of a brand-new audio drama serial for Sherlock Holmes, set to launch this October. The new series, titled Sherlock Holmes Untold, will showcase Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s brilliant detective as he encounters fresh challenges and formidable foes.

Sherlock Holmes Untold will be a serialized audio drama featuring eight half-hour episodes, which will be released weekly starting Wednesday, October 1st. Following each episode, listeners can join the ‘after show’ discussion on the weekly Big Finish Podcast, where a special panel of Sherlock Holmes enthusiasts will talk about the episode and invite audience participation.

Set in England in 1913, Sherlock Holmes Untold finds Dr. John Watson presenting beleaguered Prime Minister Jasper Cranfield with evidence of a crime that has unfolded over several decades. The story involves the destiny of a music hall murderer, a man driven mad by an unknown worm, and a mysterious society meeting in a furniture warehouse.

What does the Prime Minister know about this mystery and the enigmatic group known as “The Lighthouse”? And is Sherlock Holmes truly retired? You’ll need to wait until October for the answers.

This new series of Sherlock Holmes mysteries has been penned by Jonathan Barnes, featuring Nicholas Briggs as Holmes and Richard Earl as Watson. Also appearing are Tim Bentinck as Mycroft, John Banks as Colonel Sebastian Moran and Inspector Lestrade, and Christopher Naylor as Prime Minister Jasper Cranfield.

Sherlock Holmes Untold is currently available for pre-order on the Big Finish website for £24.99. Pre-ordering will provide access to the weekly episode downloads, along with the complete box set for personal ownership.
