In keeping with the Halloween theme, the Criterion Collection's October offerings are filled with thrills (and feature a significant number of 4K titles). Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is receiving a significant upgrade along with Eyes Without a Face, while David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence stands out as one of the more noteworthy recent additions to their collection.
Completing the recovery of a COVID-related delay, Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley will be available in both its theatrical version and the black-and-white Vision in Darkness and Light version. The month is rounded out by Ken Russell’s classic Altered States and Arturo Ripstein’s lesser-known Deep Crimson.
