A brand new Doctor Who adventure awaits the Third Doctor as Big Finish unveils the audio novel The Mirror Matter. Penned by renowned Doctor Who author Kate Orman and narrated by Jon Culshaw, this tale introduces a particularly strange and dangerous alien to Earth, prompting the Doctor, Liz Shaw, and the Brigadier to protect the planet.
In The Mirror Matter, "spores" – lethal blobs of mirror matter from the beginning of time – have been uncovered, leading the Doctor, Liz, and the Brigadier to launch an investigation. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Liz requests additional scientists to assist, but one is secretly affiliated with the BNKR, an organization plotting world domination.
As the BNKR releases a deadly spore, the Doctor and Liz rush to thwart another in an urgent race against time. It falls to the Doctor and his allies to prevent the entire Earth from being turned into mirror matter.
The Mirror Matter, reminiscent of Season 7 TV serials featuring Jon Pertwee, is structured into seven episodes of 50 minutes each, offering nearly six hours of thrilling adventure.
Jon Culshaw, the narrator, remarked, “This story is infused with the ominous mystery and escalating threat characteristic of those Season Seven Doctor Who tales. The dangers are not confined to far-off, alien landscapes; they unfold in a pub, a lady's kitchen, or along a high street – which adds a sense of realism and evokes memories of when the Autons came to life in Spearhead from Space.”
